Over the years I have studied lots of art and biology and finally ended up as an artist. In the early 90's I decided to combine these interests and became a biological illustrator. In 1996, after several years of doing freelance work in scientific illustration, I accepted the position of Sr. Biological Illustrator at the University of Michigan's Museum of Zoology. It's difficult to believe that was over ten years ago! This position has provided me with the opportunity to expand my skills in traditional and digital illustration. I have also taught several classes as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Michigan's School of Art. I have continued doing freelance work and fine art in my spare time and recently I finished illustrations for a Children's book for Sleeping Bear Press. The title is "W is for Wave". Illustrating it was great fun and I had help from all the kids in the neighborhood. The staff at Sleeping Bear were great and gave me lots of leeway on my designs.
Last year I was accepted as a member of Artists for Conservation (AFC). The AFC website promotes the artwork of wildlife and landscape artists from around the world. View my AFC website. My resume is available upon request.
